Day 3

116 miles / 6:48 hours on the saddle / 17.1 mph avg / 2816' climbing / 2 hours rest total

4 cokes / 5 bananas / 3 oranges / Maxican dinner with Larry in Wickenburg

Today was a hot and boring day. We crossed into Arizona early morning.

The directions to get from Blythe to Wickenburg are quite simple: Take Hwy I-10, take the exit to Route 40, arrive. Route 40 has at the most two turns in 50 miles, that is a long straight road with nothing but cactai and a few dead towns sprinkled around, including the town of Hope (which has a great school).

Well, I was wrong, the guy with the hemorroids didn't leave, he just took it easy and rode just a bit and the rest of the time he was in the van. He got a bit dehydrated yesterday so today was more rest for him. We are supposed to be 16, but une guy was coming from Germany and he hasn't been able to get here because of the volcano that has paralized Europe. If he is lucky he might meet us in Albuquerque.
